Some users are unable to access social network Twitter on Wednesday night. They cannot access their own account or access some other accounts.
Website Downdetector counted about ten thousand reports of internet users having trouble connecting to Twitter. The peak was around 0.35 am, after which there were fewer reports.
The extent of the outage is not immediately clear. Internet platforms regularly suffer from such malfunctions. Usually they don’t last very long. Still, the technical issues come at a delicate time for Twitter. Twitter has been in turmoil since its acquisition by magnate Elon Musk for $44 billion.
Musk fired numerous employees, including the teams responsible for the technical maintenance of the platform. When asked by a user who was “broken” on Twitter early Wednesday, Musk replied, “It works for me.”
