Apple is manufacturing the new version of the MacBook Pro, which will have new functionality thanks to the fact that it integrates a screen with OLED and touch technology, as Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman recently reported.
At the end of October 2023, Gurman announced that the update of these devices from the iPhone manufacturer would also arrive in the first quarter of 2023. The journalist then recalled that the company would have planned this presentation despite the fact that Apple’s usual launch strategy in previous years with respect to Macs usually occurs at the end of the year.
Now, Gurman has pointed out that Apple is developing the new touchscreen MacBook Pro, which will initially run macOS and include a keyboard, sources familiar with the company have learned.
Currently, Macs have liquid crystal displays or LCD, unlike the panels used in the iPhone and Apple Watch, which are OLED. In this way, it hopes to incorporate in the update of MacBook Pro, which is expected to go on sale in 2025, displays with organic light-emitting diodes.
Gurman has also pointed out in this preview that these OLED screens, which offer enhanced color and brightness, are coming to iPad pro in the first half of 2024.
The analyst recalled that although the founder of the company, Steve Jobs, promoted the use of touch screens on mobile phones, he insisted that he did not find them useful on Mac devices.
The current CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, has maintained this position as a result of occupying that position in the company, which suggests that the company may have changed its mind regarding these panels on its computers.
