BJP MLA from Uttarakhand’s Kaladhungi constituency, Bansidhar Bhagat landed in controversy after he asked college students to ‘please’ Goddess Saraswati for education, Lakshmi for money, and Durga for strength.

After a video of former Uttarakhand cabinet minister and BJP MLA Bansidhar Bhagat making weird feedback on Hindu deities become shared extensively, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday slammed the saffron unit. Calling the feedback “shameful”, the AAP said the ones from the BJP have “crossed all limits”.

The incident happened on Tuesday, which marked the International Day of Girl Child. In the video, Bhagat, an MLA from Kaladhungi, become heard advising college students to “woo” Goddess Lakshmi for wealth, Saraswati for training and Durga for strength. Speaking in Hindi at an occasion in Haldwani, the BJP MLA used the phrase ‘patao’ for the goddesses as he shared the “mantra of success”.

“God has…come in your resource…If you need to ask for intelligence, then woo Saraswati; in case you need strength, Durga may be thrilled; and if you ask for money, then woo Lakshmi. What does the man have?” he requested on the event, which noticed the attendance of ladies and college students.

He stated that that Lord Shiva lives in the Himalayas and Lord Vishnu is hiding in the depths of the sea, including the 2 deities “do no longer talk to every other”. “What does a person have?” Bhagat requested.

Taking to Twitter, the AAP reacted sharply to the comments. In a publish in Hindi, the celebration stated that the BJP MLA made “crass jokes” on Lord Shiva-Vishnu and Goddesses Saraswati-Lakshmi in a “crowd of lots”.

“Those from the BJP have crossed all limits. The people of the usa will no longer tolerate this in any respect,” the tweet read.

AAP leader Rajendra Pal Gautam, who on Sunday (October 9) resigned as Delhi’s social welfare minister following a political controversy over him attending a spiritual conversion occasion in Delhi wherein masses denounced Hinduism and followed Buddhism, criticised the BJP and requested if the saffron unit’s pinnacle leadership will “take action” towards such people.

AAP countrywide spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh also lashed out at Bhagat, terming his feedback an “insult” to the goddesses. “Entire BJP is silent,” Singh tweeted in Hindi.
