According to reports published by the Ministry of Health, 174 people became victims of COVID-19 in Israel in the last month (December 2022). This is 81% more than it was in November 2022.

At the same time, the Ministry of Health does not talk about a new wave of the coronavirus epidemic. On the contrary, it is noted that the number of infected not only does not grow, but even gradually decreases. However, the statistics on the infected becomes extremely doubtful, since in conditions when the registration of a case of infection has ceased to be mandatory, many cases are not taken into account.

As of January 1, 2023, the total number of victims of the coronavirus epidemic in Israel (since spring 2020): 12,037 people.

Relative mortality from coronavirus in Israel: 1291 per 1 million population (86th in the world). Lethality (the ratio of the number of deaths to the total number of infections) is 0.25%. On average, the global mortality rate of the coronavirus pandemic is 1%.
