A moderate earthquake seems to have shook elements of the Sullia taluk in Dakshina Kannada (DK) district as several citizens have advised news agency PTI that they felt mild tremors on Saturday morning at around 9:10 a.M, followed through a noisy sound.

Residents of Sullia taluk in Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada district told news agency PTI they felt mild tremors at around 9 am on Saturday morning. They said they heard a noisy sound as the earth shook for about 45 seconds.

The regions affected are Kallugundi, Sampaje, Goonadka, Aranthodu, Ivarnadu, Thodikkana and Peraje. The tremors had been enough to go away cracks in some buildings.

Residents ran out in their homes after they felt shaking and a few informed PTI that furnishings of their residence and objects kept in cabinets fell down.

Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner KV Rajendra stated many people known as from Sullia to tell him of the tremors.

Officials are watching for affirmation of the tremors and details like epicentre and value from the kingdom disaster management mobile.

On Thursday a three.4 importance earthquake shook parts of Hassan district and neighbouring regions.
