A new royal tomb has been discovered in the Egyptian temple city of Luxor – the Ancient Egyptian Thebes. The Egyptian authorities announced this on Saturday.
The tomb was uncovered by Egyptian and British scientists, on the west bank of the Nile, where the Valley of the Kings is located.
According to the first findings, it would be a tomb of a royal wife, or of a princess, from the 18th dynasty. That period – 3,500 years ago – is considered the most prosperous in ancient Egypt of the pharaohs.
Egypt has recently announced many new archaeological discoveries. The country counts on tourism to get out of an economic crisis.
