The Ukrainian Army said early on Sunday that Russian troops had attacked Ukrainian territory on New Year’s Eve using drones that were allegedly made in Iran, downing 45 unmanned aircraft in the process.
According to the Ukrinform news agency and the Air Force Command of the Ukrainian forces’ Telegram profile, at least 45 drones have been shot down, with 13 in 2022 and 32 in 2023.
On the other side, according to Yaroslav Yanushevich, the commander of the Kherson regional military administration, Russian forces blasted the area up to 40 times in the morning, inflicting three wounded.
According to the UNIAN news agency, the chief of the Khmelnitsky regional military administration has confirmed that a 22-year-old girl died in a hospital from wounds sustained during a bombing on Day 31 as part of the attacks that were conducted the day before.
