Hussein Orsh, a member of the Turkish parliament from the opposition Good Party, required an emergency hospitalization after a brawl in the meeting room during the consideration of the draft budget for 2023 fiscal year.
Orsh suffered a head injury when he was hit on the head by Zafir Isik, a parliamentarian from the ruling Justice and Progress Party. He is in the intensive care unit, his condition is assessed as critical.
Fights of deputies in Turkey are not uncommon. Now, the approach of the presidential and parliamentary elections adds to the bitterness of the discussion, when every party and every deputy wants to draw additional attention to themselves.
