British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak arrived at London Stansed Airport to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who flew to the UK on a Royal Air Force plane.

“President Zelensky’s visit to the UK is a testament to the courage, determination and struggle of his country, as well as proof of the unbreakable friendship between our two countries,” the BBC Russian service quoted the head of the British government as saying.

As it became known, the Ukrainian leader will also meet with King Charles III. Earlier it was reported that the program of the visit included negotiations with Sunak, a speech in parliament, a meeting with Ukrainian servicemen who are undergoing retraining in the UK.

On the eve of the visit, the British Foreign Office announced the introduction of a new package of anti-Russian sanctions. According to Minister James Cleverly, his goal is to increase economic pressure personally on President Vladimir Putin through individuals and organizations close to him.

The UK government has also revised its position and agreed to retrain Ukrainian military pilots so they can fly Western-made aircraft. Ukraine will receive weapons that allow it to strike at more distant targets.
