Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked the president of the Serbian Radical Party (SRS), Vojislav Seselj, for his support for Russia’s “special military operation” in Ukraine, SRS announced after today’s meeting between Seselj and the Russian ambassador, Alexander Bocan Harchenko, who conveyed the message to him.

As it was announced, Seselj said during the meeting that the radicals are “expressive Russophiles” and that they are “sure that the brave Russian army will bring freedom to the Russian people, which the Ukrainian Nazis have threatened for years.”

The leader of the radicals repeated that “regardless of the pressure”, Serbia must not impose sanctions on Russia and reminded that the SRS had previously declared about Crimea as an integral part of Russia and recognized “the return of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics as well as the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions to Russia”.

It is added that Šešelj thanked Russia on behalf of the SRS “and the Serbian people” for the “consistent protection of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country and the preservation of Kosovo and Metohija as part of Serbia”.
